The Opportunity:

Our Engineering group works on a wide range of diverse, cutting-edge Oil and Gas projects, alternative and Renewable green energy international projects; from a small well tie-in to a large multi-million dollar facility. 

We are currently looking for a Junior Piping Designer to join our team and work on a diverse range or projects including a gas processing and treating, and deep cut facilities, renewable and alternative green energy projects, as well as have the opportunity to be a key player in WSPs’ ongoing success.   

Reporting to the Design Disciplines Manager, you will be responsible for producing models and drawings, involving planning, layout, bill of materials etc. for major installations.

A day in the life:

  • Prepare design drawings and piping layout models;

  • Coordinate working between field and office and with other engineering/design departments;

  • Have working knowledge of stress analysis, design and drafting standards, piping specifications;

  • Assist field forces during construction;

  • Report progress of assignment to Piping Lead or Project Engineer

 

What you'll bring to WSP ...

Our successful candidate will hold a technical diploma, and will ideally have 2 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.  Our ideal candidate will also have:

  • Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of CAD 2D & 3D CAD drafting/modeling programs, including CADworx, AutoPlant, Hexagon, Aveva, Rebis would be an asset;

  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines;

  • Strong written and oral communications skills – the ability to understand, express and apply technical, business and administration concepts;

  • The ability to make decisions;

  • Solid problem-solving skills;

  • Strong organizational skills.
