What is the opportunity?
In support of RBC’s journey towards an agile organization, the Senior Scrum Master plays a key role in leading project delivery and driving the culture and behaviors needed to succeed with a client centric approach. We strive to provide top performance and foster a true team environment. In this role, the Senior IT Scrum Master facilitates and leads project management agile processes; their execution, escalates impediments, and manages risks for the Compliance, Governance & Corporate Security team. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring project governance is adhered to for RBC safety and soundness, and financial accountability for the project. Success of this role is measured by how well the project processes are being planned and executed, as well as the success and predictability of the teams delivering on the project objectives and commitments and team culture.
What will you do?
Deliver towards budget projects.
Execute all agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, scrum of scrums).
Execute all project delivery governance as per RACI
Be the point of contact for all partners with a deep understanding of respective projects.
Manage project budget, forecasting and related change requests articulately.
Proactively managing and escalating risks, issues, impediments and dependencies.
Ensure all projects are reported on time and accurately.
Build relationships and communicate with program sponsor, business, vendors and technology owners and colleagues by providing superior client experience.
Act as a bridge between the business, vendor, and the technical teams.
Be proactive to identify or fill gaps.
Report to and work closely with Agile Program Manager.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
4+ years progressive IT project delivery experience managing projects with a medium level of complexity and uncertainty
Working experience of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies and tools (Jira & Confluence).
Experience in project delivery, project plan development and management, project governance, scheduling methodology, project metrics, analysis, status reporting, and change management.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
Professional, approachable and fun!
Scrum Certification CSM or other.
Nice-to-have
PMP certification or equivalent.
RBC financial experience with MIS and Planview.
Experience with RBC project governance.
