What this challenge is about
The Risk Management team plays a crucial role within the organization. Ever vigilant, they remain committed to analyzing all transactions (acquisitions/dispositions, asset management, and development projects) and providing recommendations to various business units regarding financial and non-financial risks. In the execution of your duties, you will assist the members of the risk management team in various aspects.
The main functions will include:
Supporting the team in the development of analytical tools, refinement of methodologies, and analysis of results;
Conducting market research and analyses to contribute to the examination of transactional risks;
Mastering real estate performance indicators and developing a nuanced understanding of market data to produce targeted, timely analyses in support of investment teams, related to the development of arguments on investment or disposition strategies, and the overall investment strategy in collaboration with the Research and Outlook, and Portfolio Construction teams;
Developing a good understanding of the IC portfolio and key risks in real estate investment, in collaboration with investment and asset management teams;
Monitoring long-term fundamental trends such as demographics, technology, and digitization to estimate potential impacts on real estate;
Developing new tools for better portfolio risk monitoring by seeking innovation and identifying new sources of information;
Providing general support to all members of the Research and Strategy team.
What we’re looking for
Being a 2nd or 3rd-year student in an undergraduate program or a 2nd-cycle university program in economics, finance, strategy, or any other relevant field;
Having a strong sense of organization, business acumen, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
Intellectual curiosity, analytical and synthesis skills;
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint;
Experience with Power BI and programming (Python) is an asset;
Attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, analytical, and synthesis abilities;
Ability to work in a team and establish interpersonal relationships;
Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment;
Team spirit and a strong desire for continuous improvement in quality;
Bilingualism (French and English). Frequent oral and/or written interactions with IC employees based in one of its international offices.
