We are currently seeking an intermediate level HVAC Design Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in oil and gas projects or related industries to join our team in our Calgary, Alberta office. This position has excellent growth opportunity, assisting the successful candidate to further develop their career with the support of other engineers, technical experts, and lead mechanical engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Lead HVAC Engineer with preparing HVAC design criteria and HVAC specifications based on applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare HVAC design calculations and equipment/ductwork sizing calculations.
• Provide technical supervision to designers performing equipment layouts and duct routing.
• Review/check design drawings and 3D models produced by designers.
• Develop data sheets, requisitions, and bid evaluations to support procurement activities for HVAC equipment and materials.
• Participate in the development of permitting and subcontracting packages.
• Review supplier drawings and data during detail design phase after PO award.
• Coordinate and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a technical focal point for assigned equipment, coordinating with other design disciplines and clients in review of equipment data during detail design.
• Participate in 3D Model reviews for assigned equipment.
• Prepare construction work packages for assigned equipment.
• Provide technical support from home office during construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Assist with training, development, and supervision of junior personnel in Fluor’s Calgary office.
