The Opportunity:

At WSP our Geotechnical team is providing geotechnical engineering services to position WSP as a leader in the market. We're looking for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Geotechnical Team, located at our Toronto or Mississauga, ON offices. You will play a critical role in delivering on some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in Ontario and Canada and be part of shaping the future history of an entire region.! As part of the Ground Engineering team in Ontario, you'll be responsible for driving forward our ambitious plans to enhance our geotechnical service offering in the province through your work with a close-knit team of engineering specialists and professionals.

A day in the life:

  • You'll be working with interdisciplinary project teams that can offer high complexity work, and a chance to challenge yourself and what you've learned so far, and an opportunity push your skills to the next level with an experienced team and, collaborative managers who are among the best in the industry;
  • You’ll be responsible for creating / promoting / maintaining relationships with clients, as the primary point of contact;
  • You’ll be responsible for managing both geotechnical and multi-disciplinary projects of various sizes;
  • You’ll be responsible for leading proposals, making engineering decisions, and the delivery of projects;
  • You'll be working with more senior engineers to provide technical services in a field and office environment related to geotechnical engineering:
  • You'll be communicating regularly with the wider WSP geotechnical community across Canada;
  • Participating and contributing to a team environment and being a strong communicator;
  • Promoting strong workplace health and safety practices;
  • You'll be representing WSP in the community to raise local brand awareness.

 

What you'll bring to WSP ...

  • A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering as well as a professional engineering license in Ontario.
  • You have an intermediate level of experience in the geotechnical field, ideally with consulting experience;
  • Experience in heavy civil geotechnical engineering applications including roads and highways, water and waste water, tunneling and trenchless methods, slope stability, and numerical analysis;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong verbal and written communication in English are essential.
