Your Opportunity

Our Energy team is currently seeking an Engineering Intern for 16 months to join the Pipeline Threats team of our Calgary Integrity group, with a start date of June 2023. The primary role is to support Project Engineers/Managers working on Integrity-related projects such as NDE (non-destructive excavation) QA/QC, in-line-inspections (ILIs), trending, and corrosion/material/engineering assessments.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Complete data analysis for NDE, ILI, and a variety of Integrity inspection programs.
  • Assist in report preparation and assessments.
  • Assist in data integration with reliance on spreadsheets and databases.
  • Utilize applicable technical knowledge to add value to projects.
  • Strengthen technical knowledge through on-the-job, informal, and formal training.
  • Become familiar with and ensure appropriate reference material is utilized.
  • Become familiar with the applicable codes and legislation.
  • Compliance with Stantec’s EH&S program.
  • Establish and maintain positive client relationships.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Qualifications

Applicants must be available for a minimum of 12 months, up to 16 months.

Strong technical proficiency.

Sound interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proven initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.

Education and Experience

Enrollment in an engineering discipline: i.e. Mechanical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Energy, etc.

Preference will be given to students who are in or have completed their 3rd year of studies.
