The Opportunity
SAIT launched a new Information Technology Services diploma in September 2022, which integrates networking, server technologies, virtualization, security, and innovative hands-on projects. We are seeking instructors who would like to be part of the process of refining and perfecting this program.
The instructor's role is to professionally manage the learning process of the students and to ensure that students achieve established learning objectives to the maximum of their potential. The instructor is to make use of all available resources, methods, techniques and strategies, to ensure student success. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, and to create a learning environment which is pedagogically sound, technically supported and innovative in nature.
Reporting to the Academic Chair, this position requires knowledge and skills to instruct in the Information Technology Services program. The most important component is a keen desire to teach and help students learn. Program and curriculum design, along with course modification and maintenance are core functions of this role, in collaboration with team members.
Currently, technical skills taught in this program include: hardware, networking (switching, routing, enterprise, wireless), scripting, server technologies, virtualization, security, cloud computing, and service management. This is a “point in time” snapshot of these technologies; we are continually evolving the skills our graduates possess.
