The Faculty Engineering at Dalhousie University invites applications from candidates with outstanding teaching abilities for a three (3) year limited term position at the rank of Instructor in the Industrial Engineering Department. Please refer to our website for details about the Department and current courses.

The holder of this position may be assigned the following:
  1. Teaching Industrial Engineering courses (up to 6 per year);
  2. Participating in team teaching of large enrollment courses;
  3. Developing curriculum and innovative teaching methods for Industrial Engineering courses;
  4. Student Advising (including supervising student projects); and
  5. Undertaking administrative duties as assigned by the Department Head.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and also hold a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related fields. Previous teaching experience, particularly in large enrolment classes, is required. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of undergraduate engineering curricula and particularly in the delivery of Industrial Engineering or related courses. Candidate must be eligible to be a registered professional engineer or EIT in Canada and committed to registration.

Additional preferred qualifications:
  1. PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related field;
  2. Experience in using programming languages and appropriate software packages for instruction; and
  3. Industrial experience.
