POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Industrial Engineer reports directly to Industrial Engineering Manager and indirectly to the Plant Manager. The incumbent will be accountable for providing technical support to the manufacturing facility and processes. The Industrial Engineer will be accountable for improvement of production and training processes, and support equipment upgrade and reliability aspects to achieve high quality throughput. This position will work with entire operations organization which includes Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, etc.
The Industrial Engineer will champion and support advancement of Shawcor Lean program throughout the organization specifically for completion of continuous improvement projects.

 

DUTIES:

 

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
o    Support development and standardization of manufacturing processes including creation/updates to SOPs, supporting new process roll outs and training 
o    Support process continuous improvement initiatives through analysis of process parameters like downtime, efficiency, first time quality, and material variance using different lean tools like Gemba, Spaghetti Diagram, Value Stream Mapping, etc. 
o    Provide hands on support on process troubleshooting and process improvement while maintaining quality and product standards
o    Lead process mapping exercises to understand current situation of work area or value-stream
o    Lead cross-functional teams of Operators, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and shared services to bring improvement to process flow 
o    Provide technical support to Process, Product and Engineering Groups for new product development and equipment design
o    Ensure that equipment meets performance specifications
o    Review and validate training and maintenance programs for new equipment or processes
o    Support troubleshooting of the manufacturing processes and equipment

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
o    Support and run projects related to operations, propose performance and cost justification for projects
o    Support plant equipment improvements from the preparation of AFEs and execution plans through installation, commissioning, and rollout  
o    Follow Project Management and EDCM processes to manage all projects 

 

LEAN PROGRAM 
o    Support execution of the continuous improvement initiatives & projects
o    Participate in Lean Enterprise and corporate optimization programs as required 
o    Support Best in Class (BIC) and Lean best practices

 

OTHER DUTIES
Support CI Manager and Plant Manager to ensure plant’s yearly targets are met

 

SAFETY
o    Maintain a safe working environment by aligning with corporate safety rules and regulations, and ensuring a culture of safety
o    Ensure that the equipment and process operate efficiently and safely 
o    Provide support to the generation of HAAs and SOPs
Every worker shall,

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 

•    Bachelor Degree in Engineering - preferrably Industrial or Mechanical
•    3 to 5 years of related experience
•    Lean Six sigma Black Belt
•    Experience in manufacturing environment
•    Excellent mechanical aptitude and hands on attitude 
•    Demonstrated ability to achieve measurable results in a cross-functional work environment
•    Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making and organization
•    Proficient problem-solving ability
•    Strong independent work ethic
•    Good computer literacy over a broad range of applications including MS Office suite, Mini Tab
•    Candidates with exposure to plastic/composite production and with industrial background will be preferred
•    Training and experience in Lean/Six Sigma preferred (SPC, A3 Problem Solving, FMEA, 5S, DMP) 
•    Must have excellent communication skills (written/verbal) 
•    Proven leadership skills and strong process knowledge
