Adecco is currently recruiting a Full-Time HVAC Construction Engineer for our client located in St. Thomas, ON. As an HVAC Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical aspects of construction projects related to HVAC systems, ensuring compliance, quality, and adherence to local building codes. If you have 8+ years of experience in the construction industry, particularly with large projects and experience in HVAC design and execution, we encourage you to apply.

Detailed Job Description:

  • Perform on-site, construction-related project engineering tasks.

  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned tasks and projects.

  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external construction team members.

  • Interpret project documents and troubleshoot HVAC designs for construction teams.

  • Manage, oversee, and check HVAC subcontractors and their work.

  • Review HVAC design drawings for constructability and conflicts.

  • Resolve technical difficulties during the construction project.

  • Conduct system testing and review final inspection results.

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and permits.

  • Work within large, complex project teams and participate actively in construction meetings.

  • Utilize extensive knowledge of HVAC design, technical details, and quality requirements.

  • Have an understanding of clean and dry room design and execution (preferred).

  • Read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking.

  • Communicate professionally with engineers, architects, and construction managers both verbally and in writing.

  • Display high levels of team orientation and social competence.

  • Maintain attention to detail and ensure project components meet the overall goal.

  • Be proficient in construction scheduling, workflows, and quality control/quality assurance.

  • Utilize MS Office suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiently.

  • Occasional travel to Europe (approximately 10%).

Candidate's Profile:

  • Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

  • International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams.

  • Possess a degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related construction field, or equivalent experience.

  • P.Eng. or P.E. preferred but not required.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on engineering, architecture, or construction-related projects, preferably involving industrial facilities.

  • Experience in large project execution and working on Design-Build projects.

  • Familiarity with clean and dry rooms is considered an asset.

  • Able to work safely on an active construction site following the Health & Safety Plan.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking.

  • Strong team player with effective organizational skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication with engineers, architects, and construction managers.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to meeting project goals.
