As a Summer Student in the People & Culture (P&C) department, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. What you will be doing:
- Provide timely administrative support for a variety of P&C processes including, but not limited to, updating employee records, processing employee change forms, tuition/career reimbursement and regular reporting
- Administer the Employee Service Recognition Program
- Assist with New Hire General Orientation; update orientation materials as needed
- Update and maintain Organization Charts
- Monitor P&C general email inbox, respond to questions or redirect among the P&C team, in a timely manner
- Maintain and order office and employee supplies
- Assist Labour Advisors with coordination of employee meetings
What we are looking for:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business in progress; must be returning to school in the fall
- Previous experience in an administrative/coordinator role is an asset
- Demonstrated intermediate Excel, Word and Outlook skills; familiar with Windows-based HRIS programs
- Demonstrated accuracy, focus and attention to detail; good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines
- Exceptional customer service and collaborative approach to support all Homewood employees
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and note taking abilities
- Solid knowledge of Employment Standards Act
- CHRP in progress is an asset
