POSITION OVERVIEW:
The English Language Studies department invites applications for a Health Care Workplace Facilitator (HCWF) to co-teach the Introduction to Professional Communication for Internationally Educated Nurses for Fall 2023, Spring 2024 and Summer 2024. The successful candidate(s) will work with the English Language instructor and specifically will provide input on the culture of professional practice and authentic context. The HCWF meets with the participants (for a total of 45 hours per term) to orient them to the principles of patient-centred care and collaborative teamwork. The HCWF also provides feedback on rehearsed and filmed role rehearsals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
We invite applications from candidates registered as a nurse in British Columbia and with experience working within BC’s health care system.
- Registered nurse in BC
- Minimum of 5 years actively working in the nursing profession
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- At least one year (or equivalent) of successful teaching experience
- Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues in other disciplines and with community partners
- Commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and experience with the application of these principles in a diverse classroom community
