Health, Safety & Environment Specialist 

 

Work Location: Tappen or Linton, North Dakota

 

Reporting to the Corporate HSE Manager, the HS&E Specialist will ensure compliance with applicable legislation and company standards. The HS&E Specialist will facilitate the engagement of the appropriate stakeholders and departments. 

 

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A certified Occupational Health and Safety designation, such as CSP, CHSC, CHSE, or equivalent or  3 to 5 years’ experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field.
  • Experience in training and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with implementing SDS management systems and incident reporting & tracking systems
  • Experience conducting Incident Investigations, Hazard Assessments, developing JHA’s, SOP’s
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage team members and other stakeholders;
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Have or be willing to obtain certificate program in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to site locations on a regular basis - Linton and Tappen North Dakota and Little Falls Minnesota 
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Canada for meetings, site visits and training 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, coordinate and priority manage safety initiatives, training, policies and procedures
  • Deliver progress reports and presentations on the various safety initiatives
  • Perform regular site inspections and work with site staff to improve safety at site.
  • Manage and provide regular updates on safety KPI's 
  • Ensure regulatory compliance at all sites within their jurisdiction 
  • Liaise with state worker's compensation boards and foster a heathy working relationship 
  • Act as the Return to Work Coordinator in the event of occupational and non-occupational return to works
