The General Manager, Global Technology & Operations (‘GTO’) Canada oversees our Canadian Wealth, Retail Wealth and Capital Markets business activities including customer implementations, new engagements, in-market product and marketing activities and business unit operations. They will provide strategic direction, leadership and guidance for business activities across all functions from strategy, product, sales, marketing, client services, operations, development, HR and finance. They will be a growth-oriented leader and ensure that sales and revenue growth and profitability (i.e. EBIT) targets are achieved and will build a sustainable and scalable business through organic and inorganic initiatives. They will align the vision and strategy to operational tactics and collaborate cross functionally with enterprise teams and Product Owners to achieve the business goals. The GM will build upon our very successful franchise and collaborate closely within the overall strategic mandates of the organization and Product Owners to expand our book of business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactive, strategic leadership to drive the GTO Canada business unit to achieve and exceed sales, revenue, profitability and business objectives. Collaborate throughout the business in the development of the business’ strategic and financial operating plans.
- Actively engage with GTO Canada clients to develop deeper and/or new relationships that will expand our engagement and footprint.
- Champion GTO Canada solutions and value in the market, together with other BR leaders (eg. Product, Sales) to create visibility and interest in our capabilities.
- Participate throughout the sales cycle for major new opportunities, leveraging deep industry knowledge of products, clients and operations. Bring market and business experiences to the forefront of the process, communicating Broadridge value in client-specific business case / KPI terminology.
- Working with Canada Strategy, Product and Customer Transformation teams, identify product solutions and offerings for our market, acting as executive sponsor of key initiatives such as new technology implementations.
- Align business vision and strategy into operational tactics; initiates and presides over business transformation and productivity initiatives in a manner that systematically improves operational execution, and creates organizational capacity and standards across operating units, and that improves Broadridge Canada’s Net Promoter client scores.
- Consistently evaluates talent and training, and ensures that the proper tools and resources are provided. Establishes performance planning with clearly defined departmental and individual development plans. Mentors leadership team in creating, managing and reporting on key business metrGTO to drive efficiency gains.
DESIRED OUTCOMES
- Implement a strategic roadmap for growth of the GTO business, ensuring that in-year results are met and/or exceeded and that robust plans are in place for continuous market expansion.
- Embed a “Quality with Velocity” mantra to deliver customer excellence in all areas of our GTO business.
- Grow revenues 2 times over the next 5 years through new customer acquisition, business expansion and targeted M&A activities (as applicable based on Broadridge’s overall corporate strategy).
- Create a strong and cohesive management team and collaborate and encourage other teams (of both direct and indirect reports) to grow and be successful.
- Improve Net Promoter Scores by 8 points year over year.
EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate has 10+ years in a management position with full P&L accountability with deep knowledge of and demonstrable experience in Financial Services, Fintech, or technology sectors. They have a proven transformational and entrepreneurial leadership skills and has successfully implemented organizational change to create client value. They will be an excellent communicator, comfortable operating in matrix/ shared services organizations. They are also a seasoned operator who earns respect through the experience they bring and the insights they can offer.
Growth experience
An executive with a successful track record of growing a business and driving value creation through new customer acquisition, market expansion, product innovation, and select M&A (as applicable). You will understand how to build a robust, scalable operating model that is customer-first in its objectives, driven from efficient internal operations aligned to these objectives. You will ideally have experience in both large, corporate and smaller, more entrepreneurial environments bringing an understanding of how to drive growth in a profitable way.
Transformation Leadership Experience
Leadership of a multi-product portfolio spanning multiple business / market sector verticals and business services, including innovation as well as transformation of existing products and services. Demonstrated ability to translate ‘tech’ and ‘product’ benefits to client-specific business case value in client language.

Lead business operations and client relationships in a multi-client environment.

Demonstrate a ‘can-do’ and proactive attitude to lead within a dynamic and complex market. Experience
Education:
- B. A. or equivalent in Business Administration minimum; MBA an asset.
Yrs. of Experience:
- Minimum 10 years management experience with country wide responsibilities and full P&L accountability in the financial services industry, including several years managing large teams with direct and matrix reporting.
Relevant experience:
- P&L ownership, proven track record of delivering results in a complex regulatory and market environment. Extensive contacts within the Canadian financial industry and Canadian regulators are assets.
Communication Skills:
- Superior communication and change management skills. Demonstrated ability to drive change, motivate and lead teams to successful outcomes.
