The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA), located within the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (HEI) in the Faculty of Health Sciences, is currently welcoming applications for a qualified part-time In-Home Interviewer to join our team!
The Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) www.clsa-elcv.ca is a large, national, long-term study of more than 50,000 men and women who were between the ages of 45 and 85 when recruited. The aim of the CLSA is to find ways to help us live long and live well and understand why some people age in healthy fashion while others do not.
Study participants living in the Hamilton area participate in follow-up visits every few years. These visits include interviews conducted in their homes by the Field Research Assistant.
The CLSA is looking for a new Field Research Assistant to join our team and conduct in-person, in-home interviews.
Job Summary:
Responsible for conducting in-person and/or telephone interviews with study participants in the community to collect data for an established research project.
Accountabilities:
- Explain the research study, following prescribed scripts, to potential participants and obtain informed consent.
- Ensure forms and records have been thoroughly and properly completed.
- Schedule interviews and/or focus groups with participants.
- Conduct structured interviews with study participants using prescribed scripts and form
- Collect data and enter into standard data collection forms.
Qualifications:
Education: Completed or currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program.
Experience: 6 months of relevant experience.
Assets:
- Experience conducting research interviews or collecting clinical data.
- Proficient in data entry and handling private information.
- Experience working with older adults.
- Familiar with technology, including wearable devices.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
