Detailed Job Description: As an Environmental & Regulatory Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with consultants and the Project Team to oversee the preparation of the project's Environmental, Socioeconomic, Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA), and Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
- Developing, coordinating, and implementing the project's Regulatory Compliance Plan and EMP.
- Assisting the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Manager in supporting E&R activities and providing input to Environmental Business Planning.
- Obtaining project permits/licenses/approvals and tracking project compliance.
- Ensuring integration of environmental, socioeconomic, and health requirements/standards into project designs.
- Reviewing and providing guidance on E&R plans from EPC contractors.
- Conducting inspections and investigations related to E&R compliance.
- Preparing reports and coordinating with technical experts and government authorities.
- Overseeing communication between field locations and the Project SHE Manager.
Candidate's Profile: To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Minimum of 5 years of HSE Advisor experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong understanding of Alberta Oil & Gas Regulatory requirements.
- University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience in the environmental and/or socioeconomic field, preferably in construction or extractive industries.
- Knowledge of Alberta and Canadian regulations (Alberta Energy Regulatory knowledge is desirable).
- Familiarity with the predominant in-country language(s) is a plus.
- Knowledge of external project financing is desirable.
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team.
