Enterprise Pharmacy Continuous Improvement & Clinical Excellence. Co-op (Pharmacy)
Loblaw is looking to hire a Pharmacy Student to assist in objectively approaching prescription incidents within the Pharmacy and following a methodology to determine the root cause and appropriate countermeasures. The Student will work with various stakeholders to ensure a successful resolution of all pharmacy incidents and the creation of a continuous quality improvement plan.
What You’ll Do?
Investigation and Resolution:
- Know how to use a variety of tools to identify root causes and compliance measures
- Review submitted incident reports and identify clinical risk, as applicable
- Be aware of how to identify appropriate tools to use based on the situation/incident
- Ability to generate a professional and considerate response to a customer and stakeholders regarding an incident using non-technical language
- Ability to develop rapport when speaking to customers and stakeholders by phone or in person, demonstrating empathy, patience, compassion, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple open incidences while prioritizing and performing timely follow-up with stakeholders
- Responsible for leading medication recalls to completion, from working with internal teams to ensuring all stores have completed Recall procedures
- Ability to be on call to participate in the Recall process from start to completion
- Willingness and ability to support enterprise pharmacy operations with specific programs and procedures
Analytics and Improvement:
- Ability to work with various database systems to build reports, retrieve and organize data for analysis
- Ability to perform analysis with large amounts of data to identify trends and causal factors
- Demonstrates ability to use advanced tools within Excel or statistical software programs
- Ability to interpret analysis and present to stakeholders in a simple and easy-to-understand format
- Capable of identifying focus areas from data analysis to work with key stakeholders to develop an improvement action plan
- Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders to create a framework for continuous quality improvement
- Supports stakeholders with the identification and implementation of improvement ideas
- Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels of the business
What You’ll Need
This position requires an advanced level of initiative, analysis, and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload, and follow-up
- Must be currently enrolled in a Pharmacy Program
- Proven client relationship management and customer service skills
- Understanding of health benefits industry, including drug plan management, would be an asset
- Strong analytical skills to effectively problem solve
- Must have a good professional presence and possess strong planning and organizational skills
- Delivers results in a high-pressure environment with the ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to those at all levels of the organization
- Quick learner: the ability to rapidly assimilate new concepts and ideas, and willingness to learn
- Working towards a post-secondary education in a related field
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Must be comfortable working with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Relevant work experience is considered an asset
