The role:
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payments & Retail Payments Core Banking Engineering team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What will you do?
- Coordinate and support day to day development team activities as per the BNS policies/processes
- Coordinate work in accordance with project implementation schedules
- Pro-actively plan and manage diverse projects that differ in size and scope from their inception to delivery overseeing execution
- Collaborate and plan work activities with application and support partners BNS (QAT, REM, MVS admins, etc.)
- Work with the team and stakeholder to prioritize optimal value Delivery within agreed upon timeframes
- Lead the team with a continuous improvement mindset and promote an environment of curiosity and experimentation
- Guide the team in adopting new ways of working, exploring enhancement in ways that align with the Bank’s strategic priorities ie- cost optimization, stabilization, delivery of new capabilities
- Off hours work is required to coordinate and facilitate releases and support delivery and deployment activities
- Support complex applications that are critical to the Bank’s transaction posting capabilities
- Act with urgency and criticality, evaluate problems blockers and bottlenecks , identify actions to be taken, assist the team to recommend/implement solutions
- Understand and work in accordance with Bank application architectural guidelines
- Support of the Bank’s transformation in operating models, Agile mindset and passion for change
- Facilitate and support the team in self inspection and experimenting ways for improvement
- Facilitate team cadences and working agreements that allow for the team to create support and maintain the work from planning through delivery of value
- Conduct testing of new software releases to ensure successful implementation with no impact to the existing environments.
- Interact with business partners and stakeholders to collaborate, align and resolve issues
- Ongoing communication of project status, as well as escalation of issues, when required

What do you need to succeed?
- Off hours support is required to coordinate and assist team members in the support of our production environment in pager calls and outages.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Software Delivery /Project Management and minimum 5+ years' of mainframe/host/Cloud development
- Knowledge of Confluence, Jira, Service Now, Bitbucket/Jenkins, Release Management
- Operate with a sense of urgency and determination
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Capable of multi-tasking and managing concurrent tasks and initiatives
- Results driven; forward thinking with a problem solving mentality
- Comfortable working in highly collaborative and changing environment
- Must be reliable, pro-active, customer-focused, attentive to details, and a team player
- Certification in Agile Framework is an asset
- Application languages (Cobol, JCL, SQL, Java, Kotlin) is an asset
- Familiar with Network, LAN TCP/IP, security and communication protocol concepts
- Data Power experience desirable
- Excellent communication skills, positive attitude with a strong commitment to Team vs individual behaviors
- Leadership qualities with previous experience in Leading a Team
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
