The Opportunity:
WSP E&I Canada is currently recruiting Engineering Co-Op Students to join our team in our Surrey BC offices. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to develop their career and experience in the engineering and construction field.
The position will primarily support the Certified Civil Engineering Laboratory (concrete, aggregate, soil, asphalt) by conducting field and laboratory testing services within the lower mainland and throughout BC but will also support aspects of materials and geotechnical engineering projects.
Responsibilities will include conducting tests on asphalt, concrete, aggregate and soil in both laboratory and field environments.
This position will require occasional travel.

A day in the life:
- Responsible for providing high quality work that meets the client’s expectations
- Contribute to achieving high client satisfaction
- Follow WSP’s Project Review, Ethics and Safety Policies
- Preparation of field and laboratory reports and data entry
- Provide technical support to geotechnical investigations, geotechnical instrumentation, and geotechnical sampling, as required, which may include conducting field visits/investigations
- Sample collection, site monitoring, and data entry

- British Columbia Class 5 driver’s license and a good driving record (driving abstract required)
- Knowledge of ASTM and CSA field and laboratory test procedures for concrete, aggregate, and asphalt an asset
- CCIL certification for field and laboratory concrete, aggregate, and asphalt an asset
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification an asset
- Basic First Aid certification an asset
