Your Opportunity

As an electrical drafter, your role is to complete the daily activities of the drafting team and support the technical disciplines & project teams within the Power & Dams group.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Uses knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks
  • Development, completing design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using drafting programs.
  • Will work closely with engineers and designers on assigned projects.
  • Preparation of customized drawings and order material for clients while ensuring that the projects needs are met in a timely and effective manner
  • Performs thorough quality control (QA/QC) of documentation and print work for standards compliance, discipline engineering to ensure comments/markups have been addressed.
  • Interaction with clients regarding project details
  • Participation in team and independent based work
  • Check discipline-related drawings and documents
  • Ensure drawings are in accordance with project scope, client specifications and standards
  • Ensure drawings are dimensionally clear, complete, and correct
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • CAD drafting skills.
  • SAP experience would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
  • Ability to develop/edit design as required.
  • Excellent computer skills including practical knowledge of Computer Assisted Drafting/Design (CADD), MS Office and other related applications.
  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.

Education and Experience

Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Entry level, minimum of 1 year of experience.

Typical office environment working with computers at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
