What You’ll Do:

The eCommerce Operations team is hiring a Summer Student as we add new capabilities to our ship-to-home initiatives and support growth of delivery, designed to improve customer convenience and accelerate digital growth across Canadian Tire stores. The Summer Student will support operational execution, process improvement, financial settlement support, exception management, and reporting during the launch and post-launch stabilization period. 

 

This role provides hands-on experience supporting a large-scale omnichannel program and contributes directly to operational accuracy, financial integrity, and scalable processes:

 

Operational Support:

  • Support launch execution and postlaunch stabilization activities for new shipping capabilities
  • Track operational issues, risks, and exceptions across Stores, Carriers, Finance, Digital, and Customer Support 
  • Assist with coordination and maintenance of store-facing operational materials, FAQs, and process guidance 
  • Support cross functional follow-ups to ensure issues and action items are tracked and resolved 

 

Process Improvement & Insights: 

  • Identify operational pain points, manual workarounds, and recurring exceptions during launch and early operations 
  • Support documentation of current state processes and assist in defining improved or standardized processes 
  • Analyze exception trends and operational data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities 
  • Compile and maintain operational reporting, dashboards, and summaries to support decision making 

 

Financial Settlement Support:

  • Support financial settlement tracking related to subsidized shipping, including carrier charges and store funding impacts 
  • Assist with reconciliation activities and identification of discrepancies or anomalies 
  • Support exception reporting related to financial or settlement issues 
  • Maintain tracking logs and documentation to support alignment between Operations and Finance 

 

What You Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Commerce, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with interest in process improvement 
  • Strong Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with operational and financial data 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Interest in eCommerce, retail operations, or finance & reporting considered an asset
  • Prior experience with reporting, data analysis, or process documentation (academic or co-op experience) considered an asset

Our typical hiring range is between $23.00 and $37.00 CAD Hourly. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
