Adecco is currently hiring several full-time Early Childhood Education Assistants (ECEA) on behalf of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation to support the newly renovated Kaackamin Centre in Gold River, BC.

The ECEA plays a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Working under the guidance of certified Early Childhood Educators, you will assist with daycare and preschool programming while supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a culturally enriched learning environment that celebrates Indigenous values, traditions, and ways of knowing.

  • Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00/hour

  • Location: Gold River, BC

  • Shift: Days

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering age-appropriate educational and recreational activities

  • Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through daily programming

  • Help prepare and serve nutritious snacks and meals

  • Provide routine childcare support, including diaper changing and toileting assistance

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment by sanitizing toys, equipment, and materials

  • Observe and document children's development, participation, and behaviour as required

  • Support positive communication with families and assist in addressing questions and concerns professionally

  • Collaborate with Early Childhood Educators and team members to evaluate and improve programs

  • Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, caregivers, and community members

  • Ensure compliance with childcare licensing regulations, safety protocols, and organizational policies

  • Support children with diverse needs through patience, compassion, and inclusive practices

  • Foster a welcoming and culturally responsive environment that promotes belonging and well-being

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) Certificate recognized by the Province of British Columbia or another Canadian province or territory

  • Valid Standard First Aid Certification and/or ChildSafe Certification

  • Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting is preferred

  • Experience working with a First Nations community or Indigenous organization is considered an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, caring, and committed to supporting children's development

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Reliable, organized, and safety-focused

  • Access to a vehicle is considered an asset, as Gold River is a remote community

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
