PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Driver in our Automotive Compound, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional handling of new and used automobiles within a high-paced operational environment. This position involves hands-on work, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety standards while supporting critical transportation and inventory processes.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Safely load and unload motor vehicles to and from multi-level railcars
  • Install and remove wheel restraints on vehicles positioned on railcars
  • Shuttle vehicles within the facility to designated areas
  • Perform visual inspections of vehicles for damage and accurately report findings
  • Maintain inventory accuracy using handheld scanning devices
  • Climb ladders to access railcars and install steel bridge plates (approx. 40 lbs) between railcars
  • Follow all work instructions and safety protocols to ensure compliance and operational excellence

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to approximately 14 feet
  • Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions is required
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces as small as 5 feet high
  • Able to sustain physical work on a daily basis

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

 

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
