Donald Hill Family Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dalhousie University is currently seeking applications for the prestigious Donald Hill Family postdoctoral fellowship position within the Faculty of Medicine. Candidates from any discipline may apply, but this year’s competition will prioritize applicants proposing research related to our priority research areas including Infection, Immunity, Infectious Disease and Vaccinology, Genomics in Medicine, Brain Repair, Cardiovascular Research, Cancer, Healthy Aging and Frailty. Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in more than one discipline or are committed to transdisciplinary research. The successful applicant will work with other Fellows from the Faculties of Computer Science and Arts and Social Science to meet the objectives of this fellowship program while engaging full- time in their own research.

As a world-leading, research-intensive university: Dalhousie University is comprised of more than 6,000 faculty and staff and 20,000 students amongst its thirteen Faculties. As part of Canada’s U15 group of research-intensive universities, Dalhousie is a key driver of the region’s intellectual, social, and economic development.

Dalhousie is one of Canada’s top research-intensive universities, pioneering research in a wide array of disciplines and generating over $181 million in externally funded research in 2019/2020. Dalhousie is home to 81% of all the research revenue awarded to universities in Nova Scotia and has a strong voice in national discussions with federal funding agencies on research funding. Dalhousie’s world-class researchers are applying their brain power to the world’s most pressing problems: from ending poverty to fighting inequalities, tackling climate change, and ensuring that no one is left behind. Dalhousie placed in the Top 100 of Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings in 2020, reflecting the university’s impact in addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through research, outreach and stewardship.

The Faculty of Medicine fosters scientific excellence and humanity in medicine, facilitates leading health research, influences social and health policy, and helps drive the regional economy.
