We are now recruiting for a Director, Work and Wellness to join our Work and Wellness team. This role is currently working from home 2 or 3 days a week and 2 or 3 days a week at our head office in Burnaby, BC. Apply this week if you would like to take on this role.
Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact
The Director, Work and Wellness will provide leadership to the Work and Wellness team and its operations by setting operational objectives and contributing to strategic initiatives.
This role will provide direction to the disability claims, vocational rehabilitation, and medical underwriting teams.
You would work on forecasting changing business needs and align the team structure, skills and experience accordingly and maintain appropriate and effective staffing levels.
In this role, you would develop, implement, and oversee the departmental strategic and tactical plans.
This role develops the annual departmental budget and monitors financial results.
Key Experiences You Bring To This Role
- Minimum 10 years of related experience in the insurance industry, disability case management, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in progressively senior leadership positions
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a major in Health Sciences, or an equivalent field including or supplemented by courses in leadership/supervision
- Excellent knowledge of disability case management principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience leading a department or team a unionized environment
