What is the Opportunity?
RBC is looking for a Director to drive the development and articulation of the RBC Wealth Management (RBC WM) segment strategy. The director will work closely with WM Business Unit (BU) Heads and their designates to shape and align individual BU strategies.
They will also deliver strategic advice on key topics through research, analysis and compelling strategic recommendations (i.e., acting as the internal strategy consultant to senior leaders in WM)
What will you do?
Provide customized strategy development and advisory support at the WM segment level and individual BU level, in collaboration with key partners within RBC WM and across RBC more generally (e.g., Personal & Commercial Banking, Technology & Operations, Finance, Group Risk Management, Enterprise Strategy)
Lead qualitative and quantitative analyses to address strategic issues, opportunities and threats for RBC WM, including synthesizing findings and drafting presentations for senior leaders for review, discussion and decision
Partner closely with senior leaders, strategists, functions and cross-functional project teams to drive strategic reviews of BU strategies, client segments and key initiatives, ensuring growth strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned across businesses and with enterprise priorities
Identify opportunities to deliver greater value to clients and RBC by staying on top of market / client trends, sharing best-practice processes and analytical frameworks, and bringing the outside in (e.g., understanding competitor strategies, looking outside our industry to discover new ideas)
What do you need to succeed?
Must haves
Experience in management consulting or similar experience that requires:
Strong critical thinking skills
Structured storyboarding
Exceptional data analytical and synthesis skills, including ability to discern research information / data and focus on the critical business issues
Demonstrated business and financial acumen around business / client trends and value drivers
Experience with financial modelling / modelling financial drivers
Experience with new / emerging businesses and digital business models preferred
Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
Nice-to-haves
Proven ability to communicate with senior executives as well as build and present complex presentations; proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Ability to deal (and be comfortable) with ambiguity
Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
