Reporting to the Vice-President, Information Security, you will be responsible for the Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will oversee all processes and initiatives related to Ivanhoé Cambridge’s cybersecurity operations. As such, you will lead and supervise a team of employees and external partners.

The main responsibilities associated with this position are as follows:

  • Head cybersecurity operations: oversee identity and access management, event and incident management, threat intelligence management, vulnerability management, investigation management, test and simulation management and data protection controls (endpoint security, data security, data flows/networks, etc.);

    • Plan activities and manage resources (internal and external) to ensure 24/7/365 service availability;

    • Ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and user experience of various cybersecurity-related operational capacities;

    • Support the ongoing strengthening of cybersecurity-related operational capacities in order to ensure the continuous improvement of our controls and make the necessary adjustments to be prepared for multiple threats and to function efficiently within Ivanhoé Cambridge’s business and technology ecosystems;

    • Ensure that all operational processes and procedures are documented and all playbooks are regularly updated and their contents are familiar to the necessary stakeholders;

    • Develop performance indicators for security operations.

  • Plan and manage all operational activities key to cybersecurity;

  • Manage, prioritize and coordinate service requests;

  • Lead the tactical/operational cell during major cybersecurity incidents;

  • Manage and coordinate cyber investigations and enquiries in collaboration with Legal Affairs, Human Resources, Risk Management and the appropriate business and IT teams;

  • Administer the human, technology, computer and financial resources assigned to you;

  • Oversee your team’s performance and development;

  • Oversee performance of external partners, and build and maintain relationships with them;

  • Liaise and cooperate with IT operations teams in the pursuit of common goals;

  • Monitor new industry and market trends and best practices in operational cybersecurity;

  • Formulate and share your vision and tactical and strategic recommendations as to the organization’s security capabilities;

  • Leverage your expertise and your team’s expertise to collaborate with various business units.

The key to success!

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a relevant combination of education and experience;

  • Ten or more years of experience in the IT field;

  • Between seven and ten years of relevant experience in IT operations and information security;

  • Supervisory experience, an asset;

  • Recognized cybersecurity credentials (CISSP, CISM, etc.), an asset, or commitment to becoming credentialed within the first year of employment;

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills;

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team and external partners;

  • Advanced proficiency in operational security processes;

  • Ability to deal with critical situations with calm and composure;

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and be tactful in dealing with sensitive situations;

  • Good level of familiarity with NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks;

  • Good level of familiarity with protection (EDR, DLP, IPS/IDS, FW, etc.) and detection (SIEM) technologies;

  • Good level of familiarity with infrastructure, network and operating systems;

  • Ability to adapt oral and written messages to suit different audiences;

  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English. Exchanges will take place on a regular basis with several English-speaking suppliers, based abroad.

Given the nature of the position and the extended service hours involved, the incumbent must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and remain available after regular business hours and on weekends, as required.
