The Director, Medical Affairs Gastroenterology is responsible for medical and scientific leadership within the Gastroenterology therapeutic area. This role is responsible and accountable for providing high level, evidenced-based, scientific expertise to internal and external partners. The individual who assumes this role will also be responsible for leading the Integrated Evidence Generation Process (IEGP) in direct communication with the global team and in collaboration with the local cross functional business partners. In addition, providing scientific support for evidence generating activities including local Phase IV clinical studies and Investigator Initiated Studies. This individual will also direct and manage a group of therapeutic MSLs in the development and execution of their functions-- Guiding the MSL Team on areas of interest to Janssen to develop and implement field-based activities aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan.
Post-graduate scientific degree (Pharm.D., M. Sc. or Ph.D) or medical degree (M.D.
3 years to 5 years of relevant experience in multi-national pharmaceutical industry in a medical or clinical function.
Strong background in clinical research with complementing experience in sales/marketing, International exposure being an asset.
Proven track record developing, presenting and publishing clinical studies.
Strength in communicating effectively (oral and written) with both scientific and lay audiences.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with and motivate teams are important qualities.
Therapeutic experience in GI is highly desirable.
Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
