Purpose
Management oversight of all IT functions that contribute to the effective use of an ecosystem. Directly leads the IT teams responsible for providing hands on IT support within the Way We Work Ecosystems globally as well as IT Support for Real Estate moves. This person is the focal point for all IT escalations within the ecosystems. As the co-chair (along with the Director, W3 Operations and Director, Program Management & Ecosystem Effectiveness) of the Ecosystem Operating Committee this role is a critical component in the ongoing effectiveness of the Ecosystem model and the benefits it brings to the bank.
The five pillars of delivery for this role include:
• Enabling Ecosystem Operations.
• Managing Ecosystem IT Standards.
• Brokering Services within IT for Ecosystems and their citizens.
• Single Point of Contact for IT Issues in Ecosystems and Ecosystem Escalations; and
• Provision the IT resources for ongoing Real Estate moves.
The day-to-day priority of this role is to ensure all the technology in the ecosystems is functioning at 100%
given the high level of shared and extended usage. . The visibility of this role for end user issues in the
ecosystems means the individual is at the forefront of any major system issues and will lessen the impact to the organization overall by the timely identification and assistance in resolving issues.
Long term planning and management is needed in order to not only support the previously mentioned
Operating Committee but to ensure adherence with the IT Standards and keeping the technology refreshed with minimal impact when applying refreshes and upgrades.
Contributes to the delivery of evolving digital business solutions aligned with business needs and strategy of Scotiabank.
Accountabilities
Leads and drives a customer focused culture to deepen client relations and leverage broader banks
relationships, systems and knowledge with sensitivity to local needs and regulatory requirements.
Builds a high-performance environment and implements an effective team strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates employees for current and future needs by fostering an inclusive work environment.
communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Envisions, communicates, influences and oversees the implementation of global employee IT enterprise solutions that delivers well defined, simplistic and reliable technology, while effectively managing structural costs.
Co-chairs the Ecosystem Operating Committee to ensure alignment of technical solutions to the
ecosystem model, business strategy, use and deployment of best practices in business support,
solutions, and the alignment and application of Bank operational and security standards.
Collaborates with other geographical IT departments on support issues, best practices and
communicating enterprise initiatives within ecosystems globally.
Is accountable for developing and adhering to Service Level Agreements as agreed to by the
Ecosystem Operating Committee and the VP Employee IT Services
Help drive the identification, development and implementation of automation opportunities that support a rich end user experience, minimizing IT related downtime.
Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
