Job Summary:
The Designer will own and execute on all aspects of product concepts, design and execution as led by the Design Manager. Working closely with the whole design team, the Designer will partner on a continuous basis to successfully create product that supports the Joe Fresh brand. The Designer will work cross-functional teams to achieve business and profit objectives while adhering to the brand strategy.
What you'll do:
- Responsible for creating brand-right apparel product for Joe Fresh
- Research, conceptualize, and design styles from concept to proto, managing up to the Sr. Designer
- Create and maintain product line sheets according to SKU plans, sales needs, and emerging trends
- Sketch product in Illustrator and 3D CLO application
- Create and maintain styles in PLM (Centric) during the development process
- Adheres to design development deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar
- Lead the development and management of tech packs in PLM
- Partner with buying teams to understand how the line is currently performing in stores – quarterly stores, lead design meetings, and action feedback for continual innovation and/or improvement of product
- Responsible for understanding the impact of your decisions on timelines and margins
- Attends development fittings
- Collaborate with Product Development, Raw Materials, Technical Design, and QA to support execution of product
- Mentor and develop Assistant Designer (if applicable)
- Global travel for research / concept and product development may be required
- All other duties as assigned
What you'll bring:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design
- Must have minimum of 5 years of experience in the fashion industry
- Must have a strong understanding of fabrications for woven’s, knits and sweater yarns
- Must have a strong understanding of colour, print, fabric, fit, and garment construction
- Must have a team-oriented attitude and an eagerness to learn
- Strong organizational skills and strong sense of urgency – we work in a fast-paced environment and those skills are essential
- Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and PLM
- Must have experience in or have the desire to learn 3D application: CLO
