The opportunity
The Data Analytics Manager will join the Data & Analytics team, which is a multidisciplinary group of data scientists, data analytics specialists, data engineers and data visualization experts. The Data Analytics team is mandated to build data science and analytics capabilities for the organization, helping the business make data-driven investment decisions in a timely manner. In this role, you will maintain and develop data solutions to support business analytics needs and build the skills and competence to digest large datasets of information and produce innovative ways of interpretation and visualization.
Who you'll work with
The Data Analytics Manager will report to Director, Data Science and Advanced Analytics. You will work directly with our internal business team clients (Capital Markets, Private Investment, and more) and work in a highly collaborative environment to deliver high quality data solutions.
What you'll do
Support business initiatives in developing, maintaining and improving key reports/dashboard, and critical data solutions.
Understand, support, and analyse business KPIs through data science and analytics approaches
Integrate and directly work with business teams to support decision making with data analytics
Evaluate alternative data sources for potential business applications using quantitative methods
Visualize data, metrics, and patterns to produce insightful analytics, summarization and collaborate with business teams on implementation
Give to the design and implementation of various data foundations and architecture to support long-term analytical needs
Be able to research for potential solutions to data science or analytical problems
Assist and develop predictive analysis, and/or statistical modelling
Maintain, monitor, and improve data science ecosystem: data pipeline, statistical model development and/or business applications
Along with Software developers, give to Data engineering activities
Remain current as to the business domain developments and technologies as well as Data and Analytics areas
What you'll need
Bachelor’s degree + in quantitative domains: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Minor or advanced degree in Finance is an asset.
Business oriented data analytics life cycle: data mining, data engineering, analysis, insight generation, visualization, and presentation
Mathematical and statistical modelling to support predictive decision making.
Strong problem-solving skills working in a team-based environment
4+ years’ experience in business-oriented data science and analytics.
Passion for data analysis and problem solving to support investment decision making.
Self-motivated, ability to do independent research.
Strong communication skills, ability to articulate thoughts / ideas to effectively collaborate with a variety of teams from both investments and technology.
Strong desire to work in a team-based and collaborative environment.
Strong programming skills (SQL, Python, Sparks, +) and how to use related libraries.
Proficient with data visualization tools: PBI/Tableau/…
Proficient with machine learning applications, data science and other sophisticated analytic techniques.
Proficient with programming in cloud computing environment
High degree of curiosity about investment and asset management.
