How You Will Make an Impact

The Cook / Housekeeper enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for menu planning, meal preparation, and food delivery services. Hospitality and availability are aided by providing an environment that is welcoming to clients. The successful incumbent must be able to demonstrate flexibility in the carrying out of work in response to client and organizational needs and must be able to adapt to the changing needs of a diversity of clients accessing service. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  • Develop diverse menu plans that meet a wide range of cultural and medical-related dietary needs
  • Cook healthy meals according to client need, and in accordance to Canada's food guide
  • Weekly inventory of supplies, procurement of goods through approved vendors and donations
  • Daily delivery of meals
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with safe food handling and health and safety provisions

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Minimum completed high school diploma
  • Food Handlers certification required, or a willingness to be certified
  • Valid G license and ability to drive Good Shepherd vehicles
  • Residential or commercial cooking experience required.
  • Menu planning experience preferred
  • Experience with inventory management is an asset
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
