 Job Description: 

The Tools Developer will work closely with other teams such as product management, project management, build and test teams to ensure CM activities are performed smoothly.

Development activities involve the creation of new tools and the deployment of third-party CM tools. This includes writing tools to automate CM activities, developing new internal tools and integrations to facilitate CM requirements.

What you will do:

  • Using a variety of programming and scripting languages, design and implement tooling used for configuration management

  • Interact with developers and project managers to understand tool requirements

  • Create new tools to automate CM activities, developing new internal tools and integrations to facilitate CM requirements.

  • Facilitate software configuration management tasks as required (branching, tagging, merging, repository reorganization)

We are seeking individuals:

  • with experience with a variety of programming and scripting languages (Python, Bash shell, Java, C, etc.)

  • 1+ industry work term doing software development

  • driven and capable of working both independently and in a team environment

  • with a love for automating tasks, developing and releasing software

  • studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar field

  • with enthusiasm and a desire to learn about new technologies

  • experienced with system administration on Linux, Windows

  • with great communication skills

Above and Beyond:

  • Strong Python knowledge

  • Familiarity with QNX, BSD, Linux or other UNIX-like operating systems

  • Familiarity with version control and source code configuration (branching, merging, tagging) such as SVN or Git and/or Gitlab

  • Experience with JIRA

  • Java programming experience
