Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As Compliance Officer, you will support the Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) Compliance team for Canada. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the pension regulatory reporting requirements and supporting the monitoring activities related to the Regulatory Compliance Management program.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the preparation and adherence to strict deadlines with the filing of monthly/annual provincial and federal regulator reports relating to the underfunding of pension plan contributions

  • Liaise with provincial and federal regulator queries with respect to our pension clients’ contribution status

  • Conduct monitoring responsibilities as described in the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Framework and RCM Monitoring and Testing Control Standard and other relevant documents

  • Work with Compliance Advisory team and reporting manager in I&TS Compliance to assist with developing monitoring plans, staff training and projects.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have 

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in compliance and/or audit

  • Ability to multi-task with exceptional level of accuracy

  • Strong ethics and values to ensure regulations are met and adherence to RBC standards

  • Experience and ability to communicate to impact and influence with all levels of management/staff

  • PC literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with an automation mindset

  • University degree in business, finance, economics or other related discipline
