The Planner will report to the Manager Core IP Network Planning. The Core Network Planning Teams are accountable for delivering multi-year network plans with a system level view including platform evolution, capacity modeling and capital cost consolidation and optimization.
As a Cloud Planner you will be involved in all aspects related to the Roger Network Common Cloud Infrastructure capacity planning, budgeting and cost optimization. The role involves engagement with many cross functional teams: Cloud Egineering, Equipment engineering, Network implementation, Finance, Procurement, PMO.

What you'll be doing:
- Assist architects and senior planners in developing the 3 year network roadmaps for Telco solutions including Cloud Application Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure
- Process the yearly virtualization requirements from various business owners- Network Engineering teams and OSS- in line with Rogers budgeting and CA approval cycles.
- Determine budget required for physical hardware - compute, storage and networking infrastructure based on virtual resources requirements vBOM.
- Consolidate all the documentation for the yearly infrastructure new build and expansions: Budget templates, CA, Vendor quotes, POs, Infra Planning Specs.
- Support PM build Plan of Intent and provide oversight over the financials throughout the duration of the infra build projects.
- Define Cloud capacity performance KPIs based on Technology and Business requirements
- Produce and analyze cloud capacity reports and make recommendations to the application owners on the right-sizing of their apps.
- Work with main vendors to build or evolve automation capabilities of intake and financial planning functions.
What you bring:
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
- 3-5 years experience with a Tier 1 Telecom Service Provider
- Familiarity with VMware offerings, vSAN , NSX-T , SDDC , vCloud Director etc
- Knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as Python and familiarity with event-driven programming and REST API definitions
- Preferably some past exposure to public cloud AWS and Azure Services (mainly IaaS/PaaS/CaaS)
- Understanding of Software Defined Networking concepts and service chaining
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good blend of skills and passion for both technical and business/financial fields #LK-NK1
