Job Summary
The IT Corporate Solutions Group at HOOPP is currently looking for a couple of enthusiastic, collaborative, and highly motivated interns to help us support our corporate cloud environment.
An ideal candidate will have an interest in all things cloud related from keeping our infrastructure up-to-date and secure, to monitoring, application support and cost management. Our customers are other areas of IT and the business, and we are looking for an innovative thinker to help with our drive for automation and quality service delivery with the goal of delivering on HOOPP’s Pension Promise!
What you will do:
Work as member of a highly agile cross-functional team while collaborating with various customers and stakeholders from business, development & operations teams.
Provide necessary technical support to existing applications and their supporting infrastructure, including fielding support requests.
Receive, analyze, resolve/recommend, and respond to user questions and requests.
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems. Track and monitor tickets to ensure a timely resolution.
Build tools and automation (through configuration or infrastructure as code) that eliminate repetitive operations or development tasks and support a lean DevOps approach.
Deploy, monitor, and administer applications and underlying services primarily on Microsoft Azure Cloud (or equivalent service).
Perform unit and system testing on application configuration to ensure that applications are performing to the users’ expectations.
Interface with internal business partners to gather requirements, design and implement solutions, collaborate in the management technical operations, triage, and fix operational issues.
Develop reports and dashboards based on stakeholder needs.
Work closely with infrastructure and other operations teams.
Join in team discussions and retrospective to help us improve our processes and services.
Help maintain our knowledge base by creating, editing, and pruning articles.
What you bring:
Interest or experience in Cloud Operations and automation
Student on an IT related bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma program.
Self-starter with an urgency to get things done.
Strong desire to learn all things IT related, share, and apply new skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Strong verbal and written communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Comfort using and supporting Microsoft products.
Hybrid work
This role requires you to be on-site at least 2 times a week. We find that we can provide the best training and learning experience when you can work directly with our team and our clients.
