The team you'll be part of

Network Infrastructure

The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society.  Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

We are seeking highly motivated Software Developers to join our Network Automation Organization.

As part of our Cloud & Automation Framework Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with other developers to evolve some of our most innovative automation strategies and frameworks. You will be supporting a multi-site R&D Organization to enable our teams to develop, test, and simulate network automation solutions for upcoming customer deliverables.


With over 1000 Customers today, the Network Services Platform portfolio continues to provide a reliable and comprehensive management solution to monitor, provision, and troubleshoot IP, Wireless, and Optical networks. We are constantly evolving our platform to support our customers’ needs of tomorrow.


Education Recommendations


Currently a candidate for a Bachelor’s,  or Master’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.


 


What you will learn and contribute to

As a part of our engineering team, you will:

  • Create web applications, dashboards, and scripts to support our organization and team.
  • Design, implement, prototype, test code, and new frameworks.
  • Work with industry-leading technologies (Kubernetes, Helm, OpenStack, Flask, Django, Python)
  • Research and evaluate automation technologies.
  • Work within an agile team, and participate in sync-up and collaboration sessions which help keep everyone connected and contributing.

     

What is Nokia looking for from me
 

You have:

  • Skill in scripting languages (e.g., Bash/Shell scripting, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of JavaScript/React /Java, Java APIs, SQL database
  • Proficiency in Linux
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms


It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing (OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Micro-services & cloud native fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to convert requirements into an effective solution
