How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Responsible for the strategic leadership of all campus catering operations
- Build, grow, engage, and develop a strong service-minded team to offer the best catering experiences to our client
- Liaise with Executive Chef, and Chef of Catering to deliver all catering menu needs
- Solicits feedback from clients to identify areas for improvement and to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Ability to build a sense of community in an event-focused environment through your engaging leadership style
- Play a key role in contributing to business retention, sales, and business growth of catering operations
- Ability to delegate and follow up effectively in a multi-location work environment
- Preparing the employee schedule within the confines of the corporate policy and collective agreement
- Identifying employee training and development needs and opportunities to enhance performance and foster growth.
- Responsible for the sales, coordination and servicing of both key account functions and group bookings
- Act as main contact for event and conference organizers
- Ensure that all accounting procedures are followed including deposits, appropriate credits, and pre-payment
- Coordinate clients’ needs with suppliers and vendors to supply rental items, audio visual equipment, décor & themed items, and other needs as identified by the client
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- University Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of catering leadership required
- Previous University or College experience may be an asset
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment an asset
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a diverse team
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop, manage, analyze, and interpret a budget to make data based financial decisions
- Effective planning, organizing and time management skills
- Ability to build strong business relationships
- Demonstrated people development skills
