How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Oversee catering and conference centre events
- Schedule team of 20-25 employees weekly, including mentoring supervisors
- Manage daily conference centre floor operations
- Manage daily operations of food service including front of house set up (catering service team), purchasing/ordering, inventory, daily and weekly BEO meetings, working with the culinary team to create signage displaying accurate dietary information.
- Manage financials including labour cost, inventory, equipment and materials
- Supervise, mentor, and monitor catering service team and evaluate performance to ensure a high level of productivity and the best use of team member capabilities
- Establish operating standards, implement quality improvements
- Establish and maintain business relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers
- Constant analysis of the catering service program; identifying efficiencies and areas of opportunity within our operations
- Meet and collaborate with client initiatives to progress agreed upon efforts and provide feedback
- Ensure compliance of all Company standards and Provincial/Federal Legislation
- Build and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship including: high levels of client and customer satisfaction and account retention; strong interpersonal relations; as well as foster a strong safety culture
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- 3-5 years’ experience running a busy catering/conference centre, maintaining high level service
- A diploma or degree in hospitality management is an asset
- Proven success in managing food services operations in a busy setting
- Experience with high volume catering
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software required
- Strong ability to manage and promote a safe work environment and lead a safety culture
- Strong attention to detail
