Position Summary...

The Walmart Academy Facilitator contributes to the success of Walmart Stores, Logistics and Fleet by effectively delivering training classes and programs that support role specific tactical learning, professional skills and leadership development. The Walmart Academy facilitator is responsible to thoroughly grasp the material they deliver, be credible with the end user, able to evaluate training effectiveness and influence across the business. The facilitator must be proficient in both virtual and face to face facilitation skills and deliver programs with National consistency on time and to budget expectations.

What you'll do...

  • Ensure the details and logistics of the training are coordinated and communicated where applicable (i.e. date, time, location, travel/accommodation, pre-work, materials, equipment, and room set-up).
  • Prepares and reviews training documentation and incorporates internal and external info and trends. Spends time in the environment to understand the business process, environment and needs of the end user.
  • Ensures effective flow for the session, generates participation and enthusiasm, tailors presentations and discussions to the needs and level of the participants and responds to questions with facts and examples that are relevant and accurate. Uses relevant and appropriate storytelling to engage and inspire participants.
  • Influence & Feedback. Utilizes system driven student tracking, feedback from leaders, learner feedback and observed behaviours to assess and track student progress. Uses this data to confirm learner readiness and communicate program and participant effectiveness and achievement of learning objectives to business partners and stakeholders.
  • Confirms that learners meet the learning/performance criteria on an ongoing basis, collaborates with coach on root cause issues and plans/ communicates required continued development. Provides factually based written and spoken feedback to the learners coach as required.
  • Displays passion and energy while facilitating by demonstrating broadcast voice techniques, tone, body movements, expressions and gestures. Seeks new and creative ways to engage across varying modalities of delivery. Seeks out, accepts and applies feedback to improve training delivery and related activities.
  • Stays current with trends and best practices in the field of education and training and with changes related to the business operations; Aligns training content with corporate strategies and objectives. Flags opportunities and shares best practices openly.
  • Thorough follow up and attention to detail is required in role. Proactively manages administrative requirements, system upkeep, program maintenance and review of student generated assets by leveraging Outlook Calendar, SharePoint, Adobe Connect, @Walmart Learning and Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Qualifications:

  • College Certificate or Diploma
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Strong written, oral, and facilitation skills including knowledge of group dynamics
  • Self-starter and ability to take initiative to deliver results
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications, specifically Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong relationship management and collaboration skills (internal and external)
  • Strong communication skills
