Position Summary...
The Director, People Business Partner - SSC ensures that the Store Support Centre has appropriate talent strategies in place to achieve Walmart Canada's strategic plan.This position influences, enhances organizational capabilities, drives engagement in alignment with the People strategy within each divisional team. Working closely with the EC member and their leadership team, supports functional strategies both short and long term. This role leads a team of People Business Partners.
What you'll do...
1. Collaborate with Senior Vice-Presidents and Division Heads to translate the business strategy and priorities into an HR strategy and tactics. Influence key stakeholders with a strong focus on business integrity and the highest quality of service to internal clients to support the development of a high performance culture.
2. Develop and oversee succession planning for assigned client groups. Assess current and future capability gaps with supporting action plans to address including development planning, pipelining, career coaching etc.
3. Leverage talent data to understand issues and concerns, recognize trends, develop strategic plans through to execution. Plays a key role in driving execution of plans with senior leadership (this could include: engagement, diversity of talent, talent retention).
4. Acts as an advisor to Leaders with respect to HR best practices and policies, coaching, appraisals, harassment complaints, open doors, and associate relations matters. Acts as an ambassador of Walmart’s Values.
5. Partners with Centres of Excellence in the design of HR Programs to ensure the design, launch and sustainability will meet business requirements.
6. Execute change management initiatives within client groups through the creation of effective communication plans, announcements, and talking points and ensuring appropriate communication with Senior Management throughout the execution.
7. Ensure operational excellence of HR business processes through the execution of the Headcount & Wage, HRIS Integrity, New Hire, Compensation Governance, and Termination processes
Qualifications:
- University Degree
- Certified Human Resources Professional designation is an asset
- Very strong leadership skills, able to develop alliances and an atmosphere of teamwork with Senior Leaders Ability to influence and challenge business partners at the most senior levels of the organization
- The ability to interpret and apply legislation and provide sound advice around compliance matters
- Knowledge of HR methodology
- Outstanding dedication to customer service excellence.
- Motivated, tenacious self-starter with the ability to manage across multiple clients
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to execute performance objectives in tight timelines
- Thrives in an ambiguous environment
- Ability to work strategically and tactically when necessary staying focused on the vision
