 WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Business Process Management (BPM) portfolio team under BCS Technology group of RBC Capital Markets is responsible to manage existing solutions and build new business focused solutions that improve operational efficiency, enable process automation and improve audit and compliance. As a Business System Analyst, you will be responsible for overall business requirements, documentation, business stakeholder management, applications demos/walk through, app validations, and coordinate with other teams for the CR processes and deployments. In this role you will as well be responsible for managing medium size initiatives to ensure objectives are accomplished within committed targets. The portfolio offers a fast paced environment with solutions serving different business functions which offers many opportunities to learn and grow in the role

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Understand existing application flows, system architecture, upstream/downstream integrations & business rules and build / update required documents

  • Act as liaison between multiple business stakeholder groups to understand, challenge and capture the business requirements

  • Ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications and work close with the development team to refine the requirements  

  • Own requirements capture, documentation, requirement and app reviews and coordination of sign-offs by various Business and IT teams

  • Coordinate with project team for delivery, requirements clarifications, analysis, impact assessment and create required documentation – user stories, workflow diagrams, mockups, system specifications, RAID logs, traceability matrix, non-functional requirements, user manuals, support document, etc.

  • Own release planning and coordination activities which can include but not limited to reviews, setup requests and change management process, approvals, etc.

  • Support PM for managing medium size initiatives for tracking, delivery, project reporting and identifying and managing issues and risks for successful delivery within committed budgets

  • Independently manage business and IT stakeholders, drive project meetings. Be hands on with application functionality and perform validation of delivery to business for ensuring scope elements are delivered as per the plan

  • Contribute to ongoing administrative program, reporting, estimation and other activities as required

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 Must have:

  • Must have working experience in capital markets

  • Must have working experience in agile and proficient in sprint planning and delivery

  • Undergraduate degree with 5+ years’ of experience working as a BA/BSA on concurrent initiatives in a fast paced, collaborative environment

  • Must have excellent written, oral and presentation skills, analytical skills, problem solving and reporting skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and the project and having a self-drive and disciple to execute the same on time

  • Must be able to effectively challenge business stakeholders in order to obtain clear and concise requirements

  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.

  • A good understanding financial services industry with ability to understand new business processes and technology quickly

  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Tools: HP ALM, Jira, Confluence Page, SharePoint, MS Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS SQL

Nice-to-have: 

  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses

  • Development experience building business solutions or application migrations

  • Experience with relational database (Sybase, Oracle, SQL server etc.) and SQL programming language

  • Familiar with concepts of data modelling and system configuration. Be able to read and understand xml standards
