The Business Operations Intern will work closely with team members across Business Operations, Issuer Operations, and Client Management Services to gain hands-on exposure to end-to-end operational processes that support Issuer Shareholder meetings.

This internship is designed to provide real-world experience through job shadowing, process observation, and active participation in daily operational tasks. The intern will bring a fresh set of eyes to existing workflows, helping identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for automation or improvement, particularly during high-volume periods such as Proxy season.

Summer Internship: May 2026 - August 2026

Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Job shadow Business Process Operations Administrators to understand daily workflows and end-to-end processes

  • Assist with daily operational activities supporting Issuer Shareholder meetings

  • Support peak processing periods, including Proxy season, as required

Data & Systems Support

  • Prepare source data for entry by opening, extracting, and sorting mail

  • Verify and log receipt of data, identify missing information, and help establish processing priorities

  • Enter and update data (alpha and numeric) into internal systems accurately and efficiently

  • Perform tasks using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and internal proprietary systems

  • Identify and escalate discrepancies or document deficiencies to Client Managers or Team Leads

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Observe workflows to identify inefficiencies, manual workarounds, and repetitive tasks

  • Document current-state processes and suggest potential improvements

  • Propose ideas for automation, standardization, or simplification of work processes

  • Collaborate with team members to discuss and refine improvement opportunities

Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Handle sensitive information responsibly and maintain strict confidentiality

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and data protection standards

Basic Skill Level Requirements

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Systems, or related University Degree or College Diploma program

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work with large volumes of data accurately

  • Strong analytical mindset with an interest in process improvement and automation

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Tools:

  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)

  • Familiarity with Access is an asset.

Compensation

Salary Range: $22.00- $25.00/hour (CAD). Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
