JOB OVERVIEW: PSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY INSTRUCTOR
Reporting to the Chair, Department of Psychology, the Psychology Laboratory Instructor, under the direction and in conjunction with the Psychology Lab Committee, is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Kwantlen Psychology Laboratories. She/he will assist students and faculty by assuming responsibility for the operation of the lab, implementing and developing Laboratories for any course within the program, student guidance and assessment, management of Lab resources, and responsibility for budgeting and staffing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts/Science in Psychology
• Laboratory supervision and teaching experience
• Working knowledge of the Psychology lab, its equipment and day to day operations.
• Thorough knowledge of Psychology course content
• Working knowledge of the operation of equipment and appropriate computer software, i.e., SPSS and Excel Database software.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with inventory management.
• Ability to develop and demonstrate psychological labs.
• Experience with supervising and creating a safe learning environment for students
• Able to work cooperatively and harmoniously with supervisors, instructors, staff and students.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work autonomously.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Able to support faculty and students in research.
• Able to develop explanations and procedures related to course content.
• Required to travel between campuses.
Preference for BSc in Psychology. ($29.59/hr)
