Your Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Bridge Engineering Technologist to join our transportation team in Hamilton. Our team provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detailed Design projects for public sector clients, including MTO and several Ontario Southwest/GTHA municipalities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare planning, preliminary design, and detail design drawings for various types of bridges, culverts and other transportation structures
  • Assist with bridge, culvert and retaining wall inspections to assess condition
  • Prepare quantity calculations and cost estimating
  • Regular collaboration with colleagues in our multi-disciplined design office

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with AutoCAD software, with working knowledge of MicroStation, Civil 3D and OpenRoads an asset
  • Experience with 3D structural design software, such as Revit, would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of relevant MTO design manuals and standards would also be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience

College degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in the field of bridge design and construction an asset. Member or eligibility for registration with The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians is preferred.
