Reporting to the Manager, Product Operations, this intermediate to senior level role will be part of a team responsible for planning and coordinating the product release and product launch activities for BlackBerry QNX software products, as well as helping to plan, coordinate and execute various operational functions during the entire product lifecycle of BlackBerry QNX products and services.
As the successful candidate you are known for your attention to detail and have a strong customer focus. You are skilled in multiple disciplines which allows you to communicate and collaborate effectively cross-functionally within the company. You possess a strong technical background and embedded systems experience in an automotive or embedded device environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Coordinate and manage software release and go-to-market activities cross functionally in collaboration with product management, engineering, product marketing, product support, legal, testing, IT infrastructure, sales operations, finance, quality management, production and other groups
- Organize and lead release readiness checklist reviews and go-live activities
- Plan and manage changes to ordering and fulfillment of existing products and related services throughout their life cycle, including through end of sale / end of life milestones
- Assist product managers with development of sales enablement tools such as white papers, presentations, competitive analysis, and content to support the selling process
- Assist technical support and sales staff with customer issues relating to product licensing and fulfillment – problem-solve and work to implement solutions when needed
- Create and maintain processes involving licensing and enablement technologies and participate in hands on release and deployment of software
- Create and maintain documents and wikis relating to release processes, procedures, templates, related tools and infrastructure
- Identify opportunities for improvement, socialize your ideas and drive change - and actively support others in doing the same
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent.
- 2+ years Project Management, Product Management, or Release Management and an additional 3+ years in a technical role or roles within an embedded software development environment.
- Experience with successfully managing multiple concurrent projects with different time frames, requirements, stakeholders and deliverables
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with QNX or embedded OS products
- Knowledge and experience with one of the following functional safety standards: ISO 26262, IEC 61508, EN 50128 or DO-178C.
- Experience working with software license agreements and contracts
- Experience writing documentation
- Multi-talented individual with work experience in multiple job roles or disciplines
