This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some Benefits Administration or related insurance administration experience but who is looking to bring it to a unionized setting and work with policy and claims as part of the position. There would be training involved but the right fit will be someone with a dynamic and outgoing personality, a calming and professional approach, exceptional communication and employee relations skills and a key eye for detail.
Some of the responsibilities for this Benefits Administrator job opening in Toronto, ON may include but not be limited to;
- Administering new applications, claims, estate benefits, group plans in a quick and accurate manner; verify and obtain additional information as needed
- Responding to questions, inquiries and concerns from employees regarding coverage, claims and more (phone, email, mail and/or in person)
- Handling appeals from insureds in a timely and detailed manner
- Researching information to ensure accurate details are provided to and from employees/provider
- Handling of legal requests including documents/letters such as third party demands, request for information etc
- Tracking, verifying, updating and documenting premiums, leaves, claims, requests invoices etc
- Reconciling files and accounts on various reporting/trackers
- Additional benefit administrator and general reporting and administrative tasks as needed.
The requirements for the successful candidate applying for this Benefits Administrator job opening in Toronto, ON include;
- 3+ years of Benefit Administration experience; or related legal experience with claims/estates etc
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong technical skills; Excel tracking/reports, Word, Outlook and benefits/claims systems experience
- Resourceful, ability to think on your feet and ask questions
- High level of accuracy, detail and follow through; numbers/math oriented
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information while also working in a fast paced/deadline sensitive setting.
