Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Batch Maker to work midnight shift for our client, a leading provider of products that improve the livability and sustainability of all types of buildings. located in Scarborough, ON. The responsibilities of a batch maker involve using equipment to mix chemicals according to specifications. This role requires you to be mathematically skilled to operate in volumetric and mass calculations.   • Pay rate: $19.77/hour (+ 1.15 sift premium)

  • Location: Scarborough, ON

  • Shifts: Midnights | 11:00pm – 7:00am | Sunday - Thursday

  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and follow all applicable health and safety policies and procedures.  Ensure your work area is clean & safe.

  • Controls one or more processing units or inter-related semi-automatic or automatic systems

  • Monitors gauges, signal records and observes colour changes in product to ascertain reaction rates

  • Performs chemical or other physical testing during product processing

  • Records data on batch cards

  • Follow QC procedures

  • Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of process equipment

  • Bulk loading and unloading

  • Inventory control of raw materials

  • Any other duties assigned by lead hand and/or management

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent

  • Mathematically skilled to operate in volumetric and mass calculations

  • Knowledge of Spill clean-up and WHMIS/GIS procedures

  • Some experience using hazardous, flammable and explosive materials.

  • Knowledge on how to use/follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Prior forklift experience/license is a plus

  • Flexibility to work overtime, evenings or nights.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Capable of following Batch Cards, Work Orders, Environmental, Health & Safety Policies/Procedures and Quality Procedures.

  • Capable of lifting 50lbs.
