What you’ll do
Reporting to the Vice President, Store Technology, the Associate Vice President, IT Automotive, will lead the automotive technology roadmap and implementation. You will do this through strong and continuous partnership with our business, petroleum retailer, and Dealer stakeholders. You will be at the heart of Canadian Tire’s retail business enabling automotive capabilities across Canadian Tire, Partsource, and Petroleum locations, encompassing approximately 850 locations. As AVP, IT Automotive, you will advise, architect, and deploy the next generation of automotive technology to drive our automotive business strategy forward, accelerate planned business investments, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Be a trusted advisor and provide thought leadership on all aspects of automotive technology (e.g., applications, data, devices, and underpinning systems)
- Ideate, maintain, and deliver the automotive technology roadmap in partnership with key stakeholders and in line with business priorities
- Design, build, deploy, and enhance automotive systems, with particular focus on usability, reliability, performance, and security
- Partner with solution architects, scrum masters, program owners and other delivery teams to drive business outcomes
- Lead, mentor and build the team, working together to create a world-class automotive capability within Canadian Tire
- Define the objectives and key success metrics to continuously measure and report on the performance of our automotive systems to internal stakeholders and Dealers
- Use data and analytics to identify and prioritize initiatives that improve the experience for store customers and store employees
What you bring
- 10+ years of relevant delivery experience in a fast-paced environment with at least 3+ years experience defining and implementing IT systems roadmaps
- Proven self-starter with entrepreneurial instincts and the ability to successfully balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated change management capabilities, including communication, enablement, and stakeholder management
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal, including ability to develop effective cross-organizational and vendor relationships
- Top candidates will be curious, customer-focused, and have the demonstrated ability to formulate data-driven decisions that lead to results
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), preferably with one or more SAFe certifications
