Day-to-day tasks include accounts payable activities, general ledger account reconciliations, preparation of accruals and account analysis. Working with vendors and suppliers and various internal departments to resolve issues or answer to their queries. Provide suggestions and feedback to improve procedures, timeliness and accuracy of information.
Responsibilities:
- Process and resolve disputes related to invoice processing in various systems by working with vendor and internal teams, follow-up on outstanding items to resolution
- Detailed statement analysis, resolve payment issues including debit balances, respond to inquiries from internal and external sources in a timely and professional manner
- Perform month-end closing duties including adjusting and accrual journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and investigate and resolve any variances identified
- Support and/or conduct weekly payment runs by working on daily balancing, deals processing, processing vendor returns
- Support Purchase Order creation and receipt process.
- Facilitate deals and credit processing by pulling various reports, sharing with vendors and internal teams and follow-up on credit notes and approved deals to input in system
- Provide input/suggestions for continuous improvement of processes and procedures to add value and efficiency.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Follow published policies related to health and safety rules specific to the workplace as provided by senior management. Promote health and safety within the workplace. Report any potential problems or unsafe situations to supervisors and/or senior management
Skills and Abilities:
- Incumbent must have a sound knowledge of cash and banking, accounts receivables, processing,SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) legislation and controls.
- Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and competing priorities is crucial.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make sound recommendations derived from data analysis
- Strong computer skills a must, including intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel.
- Must be comfortable with and have complete understanding of account reconciliations and accrual procedures.
Education and Experience:
- 2 or 3-yr college/university degree or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years experience in the same related field
